We often operate under deeply ingrained beliefs that we're unaware of. Such as, "Life is a struggle", "You can't have what you want", "It's not going to work anyway", "Who do you think you are?". Those beliefs stem from our family and the environment we grew up. They keep us in the victim mentality, sometimes making us give up before we've even tried.
The first precondition to change this negative attitude is to trust – first in yourself and your own abilities, and then, in providence, i.e. that we'll get the help needed and that our endeavor will work out just fine.
Goethe has put it beautifully: "Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it." Goethe is saying that when we find the courage to do what we've been dreaming of, new possibilities will open up that we haven't counted on, and synchronicities will start happening that will help us on our way and put the wind in our sails.
We could say that the formula of success consists of two parts: one is our own efforts towards the desired goal, and the other is faith in the positive outcome. There are things we cannot control or force to happen. Faith and optimism serve as a bridge between our efforts and the desired outcome.
